How much does it cost?
₹800 in India or US$9.99 elsewhere, paid once. That includes all future updates, with no subscription. Optional AI drafting is billed separately by Anthropic. See Pricing.
How do I buy it?
Email or call us from the Get Deewanji page. We reply with payment details (UPI or bank transfer in India, an international option elsewhere) and, once paid, email you the download link.
Does it need the internet?
No. It works offline on your PC. The internet is only used if you turn on the optional AI drafting.
Does it upload my files?
No. Your files and Deewanji's record of them stay on your PC. If you turn on AI drafting, only the text you see in the preview is sent to Anthropic's Claude API when you press Send. See Privacy.
Do I need a Claude account or API key?
No. Everything except AI drafting works without one. AI drafting needs your own Claude API key from Anthropic, which is billed separately from a Claude chat subscription.
Which files can it read?
Text and Markdown notes (.txt, .md), CSV data files (searchable, but they do not add findings), Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PDF files with text, saved emails (.eml, including HTML emails and their Word, Excel, PDF and text attachments), WhatsApp chat exports, and conversations you paste in. Each file can be up to 5 MB. Pictures and scanned PDFs are listed but not read, because Deewanji does not read text in pictures.
Will it change my files?
No. It only reads them.
Is the AI deciding things for me?
No. Without AI drafting, items are found by clear rules. With or without AI, nothing counts as a decision until you approve it.
Why does Windows warn me when I install it?
The installer is not digitally signed yet, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may warn you. Choose More info, then Run anyway. The planned Microsoft Store version will not show this warning. See Download.
Why does the app say “Recap”?
Recap was its working name. The current test version still shows it; a later update will change it to Deewanji.
Is there a Mac, Android or iPhone app?
Deewanji runs on Windows only for now. There is no Mac, Android or iPhone app yet.
Where is my data saved?
In your Windows user folder under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Deewanji\data. You can also download a full backup from inside the app.
